Although all meals are provided in the Centre, the cabins’ kitchens come  complete with cutlery, crockery and glassware. Hairdryers, an iron and an ironing board are also provided. The bedrooms can be configured as either a spacious twin or a king size double. The ensuite bathrooms have a shower, toilet, and wash hand basin.  Sheets, towels and duvets are of a high quality, designed to ensure cosiness and warmth.

Sound Gong Meditation

Sound gong meditation is a unique practice that involves using therapeutic sounds and vibrations of gongs to promote effortless relaxation and self-healing. Sound therapy has a long history of being used as an antidote to stress and illness – participants often describe the experience as being immersed in a sea of calming sound waves.

Laughter Yoga

Most of us agree that there’s nothing like a good laugh to lift our spirits. But there isn’t always much to laugh about, so if we wait until we have good reason to laugh, we may be waiting for some time! That is why laughing for no reason is the core philosophy of a Laughter Yoga Class.

Each class involves a warm-up, where simple laughter exercises are introduced. This leads on to more prolonged, spontaneous laughter outbursts and finishes with belly laughing rippling through the group that can last up to 10 minutes. The benefits include stress reduction and improved mood; a better sense of group cohesion as well as a raised heart rate (it’s the equivalent of 20 minutes on a rowing machine!).

Meditation

Most of the time, our minds are wandering — we’re thinking about the future, dwelling on the past, worrying, fantasizing, fretting or daydreaming. Meditation is not so much about trying to stop our minds wandering etc, but rather to become aware of how often we tend to get lost in our mind’s wanderings! During meditation, when we notice that our mind has wandered, we gently bring our attention back to the present moment. This strengthens our ability to pay attention and be aware of our thought patterns which helps improve many aspects of our life including focus, patience, and stress-reduction.

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that increases physical strength, flexibility and balance. Although there are many different styles of yoga – some more vigorous than others – most involve a series of movements designed to increase strength and flexibility and breathing. Many practitioners testify to its boosting our overall physical and mental wellbeing.

Guided Body Scan

This involves being led/guided through a progressive relaxation practice aimed at reducing tension in the body and promoting relaxation. It often involves slowly tightening and relaxing one muscle group at a time throughout the body and/or bringing awareness to one muscle group at a time. It is a great way to relieve stress at the end of the day and unwind before bedtime.

During your stay you can choose from one of the following on-site treatments: • 30-minute back and shoulder massage • 30-minute Indian head massage • 30-minute one-to-one consultation with a yoga instructor • 40-minute one-to-one consultation with Fiona Hoban
